Fresh Water Fishing

Anglers seeking fresh water fishing action don’t have to look far while in Rhode Island. Our many rivers, lakes, and ponds provide a wide variety of fresh water game fish such as Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Crappie. Trout and Landlocked Salmon are stocked in waters throughout the state. Scenic rivers such as the Wood, Pawcatuck, Moosup, and Falls located in Southern Rhode Island, offer premier trout fishing throughout the spring, summer, and fall.

Fresh Water Laws and Licensing

Resident (required of all persons between 15-65): $ 9.50
Hunting and Fishing Resident Combo: $15.50
Special Trout Conservation Stamp: $5.50
Non-resident: $31.00
Non-resident Tourist (three consecutive days): $16.00

Hunting Licenses

A previously issued RI hunting license or a hunter safety card must be submitted with application for a hunting license. All hunting licenses require identification, must submit copy of a drivers license. Hunting license year is March 1st through the last day of February each year.

Hunting Resident: $18.00
Junior Hunting Resident (12-14): $18.00
Hunting Non-Resident: $45.00
Junior Hunting Non-Resident (12-14): $45.00
Hunting Tourist: $16.00
Junior Hunting Tourist (12-14 – days only): $16.00
