    We are your source for family-oriented train experiences in historic Rhode Island. Our railroad & the Newport &Narragansett Bay & operates on Aquidneck Island, home to Newport, one of America’s premiere summer destinations, as well as beaches, the famous Bellevue Avenue mansions, wineries, and of course beautiful Narragansett Bay. On our heritage trains you can take a step back in time, riding and dining in the grand tradition of the “Streamliner” era on The Grand Bellevue, an elegant dinner train experience. Or you can have fun and chill out with a sundae on the unique Ice Cream Train. Our trains are also available for charters and are perfect for all occasions. We depart right from downtown Newport at the north end of the Visitor Center at 23 America’s Cup Ave. A Trip Through Time The Newport & Narragansett Bay Railroad offers the entire family the chance to enjoy a classic railroad travel and dining experience on vintage “streamlined” era passenger cars. Step back in time and relive the way society’s elite used to travel to Newport to summer at the famous mansions, yacht clubs, and beaches. See how the railroad helped to build Newport into one of the premiere tourist destinations that it is today. Our 18-mile route takes you on a memorable journey up the west side of Aquidneck Island and features iconic views of beautiful Narragansett Bay. We offer a variety of rail and dining experiences departing right from the north end of the Visitor Center in downtown Newport. Trips range from a two-hour sunset journey to a 70-minute midday adventure. Guests wishing to relive the golden days of rail travel can board The Grand Bellevue Rail Dining Experience, our flagship train, offering a two-hour, multiple course, formal dinner. Parents looking for a family friendly attraction will love the Aquidneck Island Rail Tour and The Ice Cream Train, shorter rail adventures that include full lunch menus for kids and adults and even sundaes with all the toppings! The Newport & Narragansett Bay Railroad is not just a train ride; it is also a dining experience. We have our own executive chef and fully outfitted kitchen car, where food is prepared daily. Our 2015 menu includes all-new dinner and lunch options.  The dishes celebrate the revolution in eating all-natural, locally sourced, seasonal foods combined with finer cuts of meat and fish. Vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan options have also been added to the menus to meet the needs of today’s customers. Beers, wines, and spirits are also featured on the Grand Bellevue Rail Dining Experience.

    Greenvale Vineyards produces small quantities of exceptional estate grown wines. We are located along the Sakonnet River in Portsmouth, RI, five miles north of downtown Newport. Come tour the vineyards, taste and learn about delicious wines, enjoy the beautiful tasting room, the lovely views of the vineyards and the river and hear about a piece of cultural history. We have jazz every Saturday from May through November and a year long schedule of concerts and open houses. We also encourage you to travel the Coastal Wine Trail.
