    The Historic Daniel Rust House in Coventry, CT was established in 1800 by the Rose family as a place to rest and refresh yourself before undertaking the remainder of your journey. We strive to continue this tradition today. Our B&B are located within ten minutes of the University of Connecticut and Interstate 84 and are situated on two beautifully landscaped acres amidst established perennial gardens and fruit trees. Our bed-and-breakfast has all modern amenities including queen-sized canopy beds, private baths and fireplaces. This Connecticut bed-and-breakfast provides several common rooms. The cooking hearth is the center of attraction in the tavern room. The Stone Room is an inviting place to read a good book, linger on the covered porch overlooking the garden, or you may want to take a stroll around the yard and enjoy the perennial flower beds and herb garden. A full country breakfast is served every morning between 8:30 and 9:30am. Coffee and tea are available in the dining room for early risers.

    More than a warm welcome awaits you at Special Joys Bed and Breakfast in Coventry. We hope you will find your "home away from home" relaxing, enjoyable, and far different from a typical B&B. International travelers may take note that French and German spoken. On the upper level, two spacious bedrooms with private bath are a contrast in décor and atmosphere. The Victorian RoomThe Victorian Room has a queen- size brass bed and velvet easy chairs, and is decorated with vintage Victorian clothing, pastel accents and accessories- all of which create a feeling of pampered elegance. The Colonial RoomThe Colonial Room features a queen and twin bed, pine country furnishings with red and blue accents, with Teddy Bears and antique toys for friendly neighbors in the cozy surroundings of yesteryear. Both rooms have access to the large guest balcony overlooking the gardens-a perfect reading niche. The Pineapple Room with twin beds is upstairs in the original house, has a shared bath, and also offers views of the gardens. All three rooms have a wealth of interesting magazines and books for your enjoyment, plus cable TV, AC, and phone jacks. The Dining Area is flooded with morning sun shining through the solarium’s potted and hanging plants. Here you will relax in cushioned white wicker, and await your leisurely country breakfast. The aroma of fresh coffee and cinnamon or blueberry muffins and other surprises heighten the anticipation of a quiet and enjoyable breakfast. Please enjoy the Garden Room, the many gardens, the back porch swing, or browse in the Doll and Toy Shop. Attend your conferences at the University of Connecticut or Eastern Connecticut State University, and enjoy the quiet and restful atmosphere.
