Cape Cod has some of New England's best sport fishing. Whether we're fishing the shoals off Nantucket Island, the back side of Martha's Vineyard or the rips off Monomoy Island, you're sure to have a great time. The Cape Cod fishing experience is unique and full of excitement! We offer Cape Cod Sport Fishing for the energetic and dedicated fisherman, but would also like the opportunity to share our love of fishing to the beginner. We are centrally located in the Mid-Cape area, fishing out of Bass River, in South Yarmouth, MA adjacent to the bridge where Route 28 crosses the Bass River. Cape Cod Fishing in late May and June are great months to catch striped bass and bluefish as well as cod, pollock, black sea bass and scup. As the summer arrives so do bluefin tuna, fluke and several varieties of sharks. Cape Cod Tuna Fishing for bluefin tuna in the 50 to 150lb. range are some of the most exciting trips to go on. Whales and dolphin are a common site and the chances of catching small to medium tuna are very good. Giant Bluefin Tuna are harder to catch but the thrill of catching one is amazing. When choosing a Cape Cod Fishing Charter, please choose Bass River Charters for a great Cape Cod fishing experience with unforgettable memories. FOR THE NON-FISHING FOLK: Bass River Charters is not only a Cape Cod Fishing Charter, we would like you to spend your time on the water however you choose. Cruise the harbors of Cape Cod, have lunch in Nantucket Harbor or go whale watching. Cape Cod Charters are a great way to spend your time. Let us show you a peaceful day on the water.

The mission of the Cahoon Museum of American Art is to promote love and enjoyment of the visual arts through exhibits, educational programs, and continuing development of its permanent collection. The museum both celebrates the legacy of Cape Cod folk artists Ralph and Martha Cahoon, displaying their art and preserving the historic building that was their home and studio, and embraces the full vitality of American art with emphasis on past and present artists of Cape Cod and the Northeast. The Museum Early Cotuit resident Ebenezer Crocker began building the stately Colonial Georgian home that constitutes the original part of the museum in 1775. By 1821, his grandson Ezra Crocker was operating the place as a tavern, an important overnight stop on the stagecoach line between Sandwich and Hyannis. Features dating from this period include wall stenciling in the front stairwell and a hinged wall on the second floor that could be raised to provide one large meeting space or lowered to create two smaller rooms for lodgers. Fireplaces in four of the seven galleries and old floorboards also delight our visitors. The building continued under Crocker ownership for five generations, or until the 1920s. In 1945, Ralph and Martha Cahoon purchased the big house as their residence and studio, using many of the rooms for the display of their decorated furniture and antiques. It was here, too, that they lived and worked during all the years from 1953 on, when they were making their mark as folk artists. Following Ralph’s death in 1982, local art collector Rosemary Rapp purchased the house with a vision of opening a museum, a dream that bore fruit in 1984 with the founding of the Cahoon Museum of American Art. Today, the museum is a showcase for a stellar collection of the folk paintings of the Cahoons, as well as a choice collection of 19th-, 20th-century and contemporary American art. Highlights include folk portraits by William Matthew Prior and Erastus Salisbury Field; marine paintings by James Buttersworth, William Bradford and Xanthus Smith; landscapes by John Joseph Enneking, Dwight Tryon, Ralph Blakelock, Benjamin Champney and John Francis Murphy; and an exceptional fruit painting by Levi Wells Prentice. Among the early 20th-century artists represented are Mabel May Woodward, Reynolds Beal, William Paxton, Frank Carson and Frank W. Benson. In addition, the museum has developed a fine reputation for presenting a lively schedule of changing exhibitions devoted to many aspects of American art.

Welcome aboard Hy-Line Cruises!! From its beginning in 1962 with one boat and three employees, Hyannis Harbor Tours, Inc. d/b/a Hy-Line Cruises has grown to about 250 employees seasonally with nearly 90 of those being year-round and is still operated by the Scudder Family. Today, we cruise to both Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard Islands, Around the Sound, Hyannisport Harbor and the Cape Cod Canal.  This year, we celebrate 50 years in business and are proud to have many customers that sail away with us on a regular basis.  We’re glad you’re here or if you are visting our shores soon, we’ll be happy to see you! Hyannis Harbor Tours, Inc. was founded in 1962 by Richard and Robert Scudder along with E. Raymond Taylor. The Scudder brothers, both graduates of Massachusetts Maritime Academy, operated “Scudder’s Sunoco” on the corner of Ocean and South Streets in Hyannis. Mr. Taylor had long been involved in the oil business on Cape Cod and founded Scudder & Taylor Oil Company with Frederic Scudder, father of Dick and Bob. With the election of John F. Kennedy in 1960, there was an increasing demand to view the homes in the Kennedy Compound. This encouraged the brothers to enter the marine sightseeing business from a parcel of land (received as payment for an outstanding oil bill) at the “north end” of the Ocean Street Docks. When an advertisement was seen in a local paper listing the 150-passenger M/V “Prudence” for sale, the partners moved to acquire her. The “Prudence”, circa 1911, began service in the summer of 1962 with the Scudder brothers sharing the captaining chores while the other ran the gas station. The “Prudence” acquisition proved to be very successful and Hyannis Harbor Tours was born. In 1966, the sightseeing business expanded to include a new venture, deep-sea fishing. The “Sea Queen II” and “Sea Swan II” handle the fishing duties, plying the waters of Nantucket Sound on full and half day fishing excursions. The Scudder brothers made another important decision in 1970 when they contracted to build a boat to run seasonally to the island of Martha’s Vineyard. The M/V “East Chop” (named after a lighthouse on the Vineyard) was launched in 1971 and began daily trips to the island from the same docks at the “north end”. In 1972, a decision was made that helped put the company in the position it is in today. Hyannis Harbor Tours bought out Nantucket Boat Company. The sale included three of its five vessels, their docking facility, ticket office, parking lots and the trade name Hi-Line, which the new owners changed to Hy-Line. Hy-Line was now operating two boats seasonally to each island (including the newly built M/V “Brant Point”) at the “south end” of the Ocean Street Docks along with the sightseeing and fishing boats at the “north end.” Hy-Line’s philosophy of “opportunity through growth” continued in 1988-1989 with the introduction of a “first-class” traveling option to Nantucket aboard the newly built, 800 passenger “Great Point.” We also started, through licensing of the Steamship Authority, seasonal service between the islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard commonly known as “inter-island” service with the M/V “Cross Rip” based on Nantucket Island. The seasonality of the business changed in 1996 when we introduced a new and innovative traveling option for the public – year-round high-speed service to Nantucket. The high-speed catamaran “Grey Lady” cut the travel time to Nantucket in half and concentrated heavily on customer service and amenities. The service proved to be so popular that ”Grey Lady II” was built in 1997 to provide further comfort and convenience to our passengers. Hy-Line Cruises welcomed their third generation high-speed Nantucket ferry, “Grey Lady” in April 2003. This solidified Hy-Line’s position as one of the most successful passenger ferry services in the country. In the summer of 2005, Hy-Line embarked on a new adventure to provide high-speed ferry service from Hyannis to Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard. Hy-Line reacquired their “Grey Lady II” and renamed her “Lady Martha” to provide this one-of-a-kind service. The growth of Hy-Line hasn’t been limited to its Hyannis and island operations. In 1975, we introduced our receptive operator division called Cape Cod Custom Tours. Custom Tours provides all phases of itinerary planning for motorcoach and convention groups traveling to Cape Cod, the Islands, New England and the Canadian Maritimes. In 1979, we began operating cruises on the Cape Cod Canal from Onset with the purchase of Cape Cod Canal Cruises. The M/V “Viking” runs daily cruises on the canal along with charters and nighttime specialty cruises. Hy-Line’s “north end” sports a Bait and Tackle Shop with all kinds of fishing supplies and accessories. From its beginning in 1962 with one boat and three employees, Hyannis Harbor Tours, Inc. d/b/a Hy-Line Cruises has grown to about 350 employees with about 100 of those being year-round employees. Today the company is still led by Richard M. Scudder, President. The Scudder brothers purchased the stock of E. Raymond Taylor in 1973 and the stock of Robert Scudder was transferred to his children upon his death in 1978. Besides Richard Scudder, the principals of the company now include Bob’s son, Frederic Scudder II, and Dick’s children, Susan DeMartino, Philip, David and Murray Scudder.

Toad Hall kinda started out with a few sports cars housed in a shed behind the Simmons Homestead Inn in Hyannis Port on Cape Cod. Over the past dozen years the number of sheds and cars grew and grew. Finally when there were some three dozen cars, the sheds all got tied together and enclosed. Now there are more than 50 inside and another bunch outside that at least can get driven around. Most are classics from the 50s to the 80s. Most are English, all are red. There are several cars of which less than a dozen are in the States, but the rest simply will bring back happy memories to the older folks. The cars are all nicely restored, and they are all handsome drivers, that is if you can get them out of a now rather crowded garage. The Toad Hall Collection has just been open a year, but everyone who has visited it has had a really great experience. It's now one of the largest collections of Sports Cars in the Country. You just gotta come and check it out. Toad Hall Cars If you remember back in your childhood, or maybe more recently, you probably read the book or saw the Walt Disney movie THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS by Kenneth Grahame, written back in 1908. About a bunch of animal characters in England in the late 1800s. The leading guy was Toad, Lord of Toad Hall. He was totally fascinated by the then new motorcar. And, all of Toad's cars were red too. This same fascination is carried forward today at the Toad Hall Sports Car Museum at the Simmons Homestead Inn in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, right in the center of Cape Cod. This collection of classic sports cars is the private collection of Bill Putman, Innkeeper of Sorts at the Simmons Homestead Inn It was just opened up to the public for the first time in 2003. It's open daily from 11 A.M. till 5 P.M. year round. Admission is $8 per adult, big kids from 10 to 16 are $4, and kids under 10 are free if they come with their folks. We will make one exception for bored spouses and only charge them $4, and we have chairs for them while waiting for the car nuts to finish up. Then there is an added 'benefit' if you are staying as a guest at the Simmons Homestead Inn. You can get in free! Bring a camera if you want. If you are old enough not to rip things off the dashboard, Bill might let you sit in one of them to bring back the old times. This is a place to enjoy. The cars are all registered and run if you can get them out of the garage. Place has gotten a bit crowded over the years as it grew out of control. Oh well. You can get a preview by going up to the top and clicking on the various marques. You can also go to the directions page and find out how to get here. Toad Hall and the Simmons Homestead Inn are in Hyannis Port, just outside of Hyannis smack in the middle of Cape Cod. Also feel free to call us at 1-508-778-4934 or e-mail us at ToadHallCars@aol.com Toad Hall Sports Car Museum is a great place to spend some time and really enjoy these classic red little critters.

Collecting begins with a personal, visual, and emotional connection to a piece of art. Experience tells us that one-of-a-kind objects bring clients more conversation, more investment return, and most importantly more prolonged enjoyment than any reproduction. Knowing that an accomplished artist, rather than a machine, carefully selected and applied materials resulting in the finished piece you see makes for a genuine, unique experience. We know that our clients are interested in building a collection of great quality; one that reflects their personal style. We would rather send you home empty-handed than with a painting or sculpture you won't treasure for years to come. Personal relationships are important to us here. We often visit artists' studios and bring paintings back with particular clients in mind.  Our experienced staff is happy to make house calls. We are committed to helping you select works of art that enhance and complement the architecture and existing objects in your home's interior.
