Welcome to the Frances Fleet. We would like to thank those of you who have sailed with us in the past and welcome those that are trying us for the first time. The Frances Fleet operates four boats out of the Port of Galilee in Narragansett, RI and was founded in 1978 by Frank Blount. Through the years, some of the boats have been replaced with others but the goal of the company has remained constant, providing customers with the services they want at reasonable prices.
The Frances Fleet offers a variety of fishing trips, including ½ day, full day, night ,offshore and overnight extended trips. Novices and experienced anglers alike are welcome on all our trips, and our crew will be happy to give instructions to anyone who wants/needs assistance. No reservations are necessary on the majority of our day and/or night trips, with the exception of night bass and squid. Rods are available to rent for all of our trips, and bait is supplied free of charge. And if you’d like to accompany an angler but choose not to fish, you’re welcome to join in the fun and perhaps do some sunbathing at a discounted rate. If you want excitement, sport and the ultimate in fishing challenges, then our offshore tuna trips are for you. We offer numerous offshore tuna trips beginning in late August and running until late October.. Due to the overwhelming demand of these trips, reservations are needed. Also of special interest are our whale watch expeditions. These trips run in July and August, five days per week. We have enjoyed sighting various forms of marine life, including finback whales, humpbacks, minke whales, dolphins, sea turtles, giant ocean sunfish, sharks and a wide array of bird life.
The Frances Fleet consists of four vessels; the Lady Frances, Gail Frances, Admiral Frances and the Captain Frances. All vessels and their safety equipment are inspected annually by the United States Coast Guard to ensure your safety. Our in house maintenance personnel are always on hand to keep all the vessels in tip top shape.
The Frances Fleet prides itself on having a very courteous and professional crew. They will offer instructions to all and take pride in the service they provide. Many of our captains and/or crew have been working for the Frances Fleet for a number of years and have become a great asset to the company. Many of our customers mention that our crew is one of the things they appreciate most about sailing with the Frances Fleet. Our knowledgeable office staff is also there to answer any questions prior to your trip.
In addition to the boats, Frances Fleet owns and operates Capt’s Tackle, a store that offers a line of souvenirs and gifts in addition to tackle and bait. Our tackle lines are expanding every year and we also have every kind of bait an angler might need to go salt water fishing. If we don’t carry what you need, chances are we can get it
