BY FERRY
Ferries to the Island sail from Falmouth, Hyannis, Montauk (Long Island, NY) Nantucket, New Bedford, New London, Conn, and Woods Hole. All except the Woods Hole Ferry carry passengers only.
The boats from Falmouth, Hyannis, New Bedford, and Quonset Point operate during the spring, summer, and fall. The ferry between Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket runs from June to mid September, and the ferry from Montauk makes one round trip in the month of August. If you leave your car on the mainland, parking is available at ferry terminals.
To bring a vehicle to the island:
The ferry from Woods Hole is the only ferry that carries passengers and vehicles. It operates every day, year round, weather permitting.
Vehicle Reservations: Advance reservations are strongly recommended if you plan to bring your vehicle. Vehicle reservations are required on the summer dates indicated on the Woods Hole to Martha’s Vineyard schedule on page 11. The numbers for reservations are 508-477-8600 or 508-693-9130.
