Tour New England
NEW HAMPSHIRE: THE MONADNOCK REGION

If you've ever picked up an Old Farmer's Almanac and read some of the homey advice, predictions, opinions and musings of its writers, you'll get a perfect feel for life in the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire. Monadnock is the home of the Old Farmer's Almanac and has been since 1792!

If someone asked you what it's like in New England, you'd only have to show them a picture or a postcard from any of the towns and villages in the area and skip the thousand words.

This is the same scenery, peacefulness and way-of-life which attracted so many poets, writers, artists and intellectuals to the area in past times. From Hawthorne and Emerson to Thoreau and Robert Frost, this is the way America is supposed to be.

Everything "New England" is right here: antique shops, centuries old Bed & Breakfast establishments, flea markets, maple syrup and sugar candy shops, small hotels with a boardwalk and front-porch swing, apple orchards and equipment and livestock auctions. And of course, there's ample opportunity to enjoy the best of what the outdoors has to offer. There's plenty of great fishing and swimming, hiking and climing, skiing and snowmobiling, and nature spotting throughout the region.

So if you're looking for a concert on the village green in Summer, spectacular foliage in the Fall, children building a snowman on the lawn in Winter, or the return of the birds as life begins to bloom in spring, the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire is the place for you.
