The finest seafood in the world is available
here at dozens and dozens of establishments from
family-owned clam shacks on the highway to luxurious
restaurants overlooking the harbor lights.
The area's history reads like a capsule history
of the country. Both fishing and farming are major
industries as well as shipbuilding from small
boatyards up to the famous Bath Iron Works.

Traveling up and down Route 1 or the other well-marked
roads in the area leads you directly to or gives you
easy access to such well known destinations as Boothbay
Harbor, Camden, Bath, Southport, Christmas Cove, Rockland,
Brunswick and Cundy's Harbor.
Activities are varied and affordable - sailing, sightseeing
cruises, whale watches and coastal trails give you a true
taste of life on the coast of Maine. And history abounds.
Visit the Bath Maritime Museum for a look at life on the water
down through the ages from pre-revolutionary times to the
present. There is an active nightlife throughout the area
and several repertory companies and dinner theatres.
There is also an abundance of outdoor activities in the immediate
areas away from the coast such as canoeing, hiking, bicycling
and swimming.
Antique collectors may want arrive in a large truck to cart
home the many finds they're sure to come across in the area's
numerous shops and flea markets.
There is not a more well-rounded area in the state to enjoy
a little bit (or a lot of!) of everything Maine has to offer.
